Austin has been blessed with beautiful weather! With so many FREE indoor and outdoor activities to pick from, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite FREE Austin events for this week. This calendar includes both family-friendly and adult-oriented Austin activities.
Viewing of the Austin ISD Youth Art Month Gallery
Art teachers lead students on a journey via learning to Develop Craft, Engage and Persist, Envision, Express, Observe, Reflect, Stretch & Explore, and Understand Art Worlds, guided by the eight “studio habits of thought.” Student artists from around the district will have their works on exhibit at the AISD Performing Arts Center in honor of Youth Art Month.
Lunchtime Series: Music on Main
From March 29 through April 28, the City of Round Rock offers the Music on Main: Lunchtime series from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday! Take advantage of the many lunch options on Main Street then relax in one of the parklets for an afternoon of fun and music.
Wilbarger Creek Park’s Outdoor Baby Time
Join Ms. Carmen and Ms. Melissa for an outdoor Baby Time packed with books, songs, and fun at Wilbarger Creek Park! This event is for babies up to 18 months old who are accompanied by an adult. Siblings are encouraged to attend. This event necessitates registration.
On the Lawn: Music
Listen to local artists every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. while enjoying food and beverage deals from the Parlor Bar. Bring your picnic blanket, your furry friends, and your human children; everyone will enjoy a night on the grass at Hotel Ella. This event is available to the general public as well as hotel guests and is free.
Thursdays in Pease Park are dedicated to tree watering.
Join neighborhood volunteers to help maintain our lovely Pease Park clean by moving mulch for eventual usage in the park.
Thursdays are free in Laguna Gloria.
Do you have a strong desire to go outside? On Thursdays, you may explore the beautiful grounds of Laguna Gloria for free!

Class on Line Dancing
Don’t miss the music and excitement in this family-friendly dancing class, which is open to people of all ages and abilities. Join us for a lesson in country-style line dancing at Lockhart State Park! At each class, we learn at least one new dance, so come whenever you want!
In the Park Films
Milburn Park will host a movie beneath the stars, hosted by the Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department. Bring your blankets or chairs! There will be no concessions offered; however, you are invited to bring your own snacks and coolers. In the park, glass is not permitted. At 8 p.m., The Croods: A New Age will be shown. 1st of April, 2022
In the Park with Music
Every Friday in April and May, join Friends of Elgin Parks, Main Street, and your community in commemorating Elgin’s sesquicentennial with live music in Veterans’ Memorial Park. Bring your favorite drinks, food, outdoor chairs, and friends!
